how to read acoustic guitar tabs

You can easily learn to play the acoustic guitar just by reading the guitar tabs. learning guitar and reading music go hand in hand To learn how to easily read a guitar tab, continue reading.

The tabs on a guitar can resemble music sheets. The sole distinction between them is that a guitar sheet has five lines and a music sheet has just six. These six lines are for the strings of the guitar. Just keep in mind that the strings are always ordered from the thinnest to the thickest and that the bottom line is always the thickest string.

You'll normally see numbers on the lines. To know which "fret" you need to use, all you need to use the numbers placed on one of the lines on the chart. For instance, if you see a number "2", it would mean 2nd fret, number "3", third fret and so forth. The number "0" is used to refer to an "open" string. There will be no fingers placed on the fret board while playing a string "open". If you see the letter "X", this is saying that the string referenced should not be played.

When you hold the guitar, you are using your left hand. The "picking hand" is the term used to refer to your other hand (the right hand). The notes on your guitar will actually be played by this hand. You will notice that there are bars that run across the neck. Most guitar fret boards have 22 positions that become closer in position nearer to your body.
